  • Description: Andreas Galanis’ return to his island awakens hatreds and passions from the past. The poor inhabitants of the mountain village Agrilia make their living through logging and every day face the abuse of the local foreman Stelios Diakaris, who ruthlessly exploits their labor. Andreas now becomes a new ally in their struggle and plays the leading part in everything, even the re-establishment of the Lumberjacks’ Association – despite the fierce reaction of Diakaris. However, after an accident at work, and thanks to the evident love of his sister Anna for Andreas, Diakaris’ heart softens. The passions on both sides gradually abate, and complete reconciliation takes place when the Ministry of Agriculture approves the logging of the forest by the Association.
